Dear Friends;
When you have a chronic illness and disability like I do, you have to learn to give some, change some, and always keep learning and adapting. As I have lived my life with Multiple Sclerosis, I have had to make many changes, travel in new, unfamiliar places, and learn new skills to compensate for those I have lost. When you finally accomplish something you never thought you could, it just feels soooooo good.
Along the way I’ve had a lot of help — people who inspire me when I am afraid to proceed or people whose hands or feet do what mine cannot do. People you meet along the way will help you, and me, do what we need to do to reach our goals. As the old adage says, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”
Over the last year, with a lot of help, I totally redesigned my Website. I am so proud of its new sleek, more professional appearance. It is more organized, is filled with pictures, and has a wonderful new search feature that allows you to type in a word and it will search the entire site to find just what you are looking for.
Your favorite sections from the old Website are still there — Tips for Making Life Easier©; unique products I’ve discovered that make life easier for people with limitations, as well as archived articles on living with a chronic illness or disability, the Making Life Easier© radio and TV segments, AND archives of this E-zine.
Fun, informational, and inspirational sections have been added:
- Did You Know? presents ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) related facts that can help you or a loved one with a disability find accommodation in many aspects of life.
- Glad You Asked answers questions from people like you facing the challenges of a chronic illness or limitation.
- Just For You contains fun, light hearted words and videos to brighten your day.
- And Need a Little Inspiration? as its name implies, is filled with stories and videos that will inspire you.
My BLOG, What I Learn About Living From my Chronic Illness is prominent on the Home Page, and now interactive, so take a moment to read and comment on my brief accounts on daily life.
I am really excited that the Website was created in a way that allows me to change content and thus respond to current issues on a more timely basis. I can also build a supportive community around the world through Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIN.
As I said in the beginning, I could not have accomplished this on my own, I’m very grateful to Robyn and Stan of Kitson Marketing/InTime Tools for their help, wise counsel, and for mentoring Joe Kranz, our Webmaster. Deborah Proctor, my able assistant, kept the project organized and on track. Working with this great team was exciting and fulfilling.
So “affect the world by what you browse” by trying out all the different features on my new site, and letting me know what you think. Together, we can make our Website an even better resource for people with chronic illness and disability to find solutions for coping with their limitations.
