We have a new grandson, Oren Joseph born to Andrew and Ronit. He looks like Andrew did as a baby, with beautiful, silky black, straight hair.  Holding baby Oren was like time traveling; instantly I was back 33 years with my heart bursting with joy. Oren's big sister (2 1/2 year old) Gali is enjoying having all the company and attention.

I wish I could do more to help with meals, laundry, picking up, and bedtime rituals but I have to be content watching all the activity from the sidelines. It's very hard for me to be "sidelined."  It happens all too often!!!  But, there is something very special about sitting and watching your grown son be a daddy.  As much as I love his two children and his wife, it's validation that I did something right in the parenting department.

Tomorrow, we fly home.  Until the next time I see my son and his growing family, I'll try to be content with the memories of my visit and looking at all the pictures and videos that I took. And, Skype!  Thank goodness for Skype!!!  I'll be able to use my computer and eye-camera to see Oren and Gali grow.

Here's a picture of the happy family.

Congratulations

Thanks for sharing your grandson. I just read one of your inspirational books and I feel the same way. I've had MS for 20 years and "one day at a time" seems to work for me. Too many dwell on the negatives and to see something positive come out of life in any way is great. Keep up the good work!
