I am so excited and thrilled with my new dishwasher because for the first time in 10 years I can open the door and put my dishes inside.  I know to most people this would probably be so trivial, so silly to be "excited" about, but to me it's gaining back a little bit of my independence.

Our old dishwasher was too difficult for me to open.  This new one has handle I can grab. Now whenever we make a household purchase, like an appliance, lamp, thermostat, TV, DVD player, etc., I try the switches, buttons, and latches to make sure I can use them independently.
